This allows you to generate partner accounts and partner users. Verify if "Enable as Partner" is present in the dropdown menu for your accounts. If can’t find "Enable as Partner", then change the account layout to add the same.

First you Create Accounts for your Partners. If they already exist, you can enable them as partner accounts.

  1. Open the Account that you wish to enable as a Partner Account.
  2. Add a new contact.
  3. Click on ‘Enable as Partner’. In the confirmation dialog, select ‘Enable As Partner’.

Note: Please ensure following steps are followed before you proceed -

a. Portal Account owner has been associated with a role

Follow the below steps to convert Partner Account’s Contacts to Partner Users -

  1. Head to the Partner Account contact related list.
  2. Open a Contact and from the dropdown menu, select ‘Enable Partner User’.
  3. Set the User details in the New User detail page that opens up.

Since it’s better to generate a password and send an email to your members, make sure you select the “Generate new password and notify the user immediately’ checkbox.

Manage members of the partner portal

You can add members to the Partner Portal by selecting Profiles. To add members using profiles -

  1. Head to ‘All Sites’.
  2. Open ‘Workspaces’ next to your Partner Portal.
  3. You can manage members from ‘Administration’ workspace’s ‘Members’. You can also manage assignments of Permission Sets of Portal members

Primary objective of building a Partner Portal is to share your organization’s CRM data with partners and streamline the whole of your partnership. Experience Cloud allows you to securely share your CRM data with your partners. But to do so you will have to customize your Experience Cloud site i.e. your Partner Portal. To enable sharing CRM data with partners, you need to follow the following 4 steps explained in detail below -

Set Your Org's External Org-Wide Defaults

You can share your CRM objects by hosting them on Partner Portal. But before that you will have to set up baseline record access for Partner Portal users. External org-wide defaults give you full control over this.

As an illustration, you might grant public read-only access to Leads for internal users while configuring external org-wide defaults as private. This ensures that Partners do not have visibility into each other's Leads. But as a good practice it’s recommended to set the default external access to private for all objects, and then opening up access using other means such as permission sets. Add CRM objects onto the portal using builder

To customize your Experience Cloud site i.e. your Partner Portal, open ‘Builder’. In order to share a specific object with Partner Portal users, you will have to add the object to the portal’s ‘Navigation Menu’.

  1. Click anywhere on the ‘Navigation Menu’ bar and then click the ‘Edit Default Navigation’ button.
  2. Click ‘Add Menu’ Item and drag the new menu item to rearrange as you wish.
  3. You will have to change few properties and ‘Save’ Menu.

Below are the properties that need to be changed -

Name - Enter a name for the tab that shall be displayed

Type - Salesforce Object

Object Type - Object that you wish to be shared

Default List View - Select a list view
